VIENNA, VA - BLUE HOOD KITCHEN
Project Background
Project Goals
This project began with a small, enclosed 70 square foot kitchen that limited both functionality and flow within the home. The homeowners wanted a significantly larger kitchen that would allow for better circulation, increased storage, and a layout that connected more naturally with the rest of the first floor.
To accomplish this, the project required removing a major structural wall running through the middle of the house, dramatically expanding the kitchen footprint to approximately 350 square feet. The renovation also included updating the home’s mechanical systems, improving insulation, upgrading lighting, and refinishing the surrounding living areas to create a cohesive first-floor transformation.
The finished result is a bright, open kitchen with a continuous wall of cabinetry and tile, a large island for gathering, and improved connection between the kitchen, dining, and living areas.
