The first step in every full home remodel is the same. Identifying the weak points, stressors, must have items, and budget. We like to start with what does and does not work in your home. Understanding the changes needed starts with understanding you and your family. What rooms are actually used? How? What are the major points that have to change before anything else? How much can we realistically put to this work? How will changing these major points actually help? Starting with questions like this guide us on our way to understanding what walls need to move, what rooms need to be remodeled, and how we can proceed as a team. 

Based on the answers in your initial consultation, we work with our team to identify the most efficient places to change the layout in terms of utility and cost. We also work with our clients to recognize their use case of their home prior to any modifications. In remodeling, every lever in construction should be used in moderation. Creating an open floor plan is great, but removing every wall in the house is expensive and often too open. Getting away from buzzwords and identifying what works best for our client is where we start and where we stay through the entire renovation. 

This starts at the very beginning. Before the first hammer is swung, ABI spends hours with the client virtually and in person. We walk through design presentations, review our detailed scopes of work, understand the limiting factors of the work, and analyze solutions prior to starting work. The key here is relentless communication to create clarity. Identifying every drawer’s function in the kitchen, the paint in each room, the level of finish needed in each phase, all of which leads us to understand the length of time and cost associated. 

When permits and inspections are needed, we facilitate and coordinate all inspections in house. We take care of all the work on your behalf.
